Dr. Winans is thrilled to be back in his home town and to be a part of the Berks Oral Surgery team. He is a native of Berks county and a graduate of Wyomissing Area High School. Following high school, he went on to attend Penn State University where he was a walk on member of the varsity soccer team and graduated with a bachelors degree in finance. Dr. Winans moved back to the Philadelphia area to complete his dental degree, graduating summa cum laude from Temple University School of Dentistry. He remained in center city Philadelphia where he received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical training from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. During residency Dr. Winans served as chief resident, and completed his program in 2013. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and in the process of becoming an active member of the Pennsylvania Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the America Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the Reading Hospital Medical Staff.
Some of Dr. Winans’ specialty training and interests include corrective jaw surgery, treatment of oral/facial tumors and cysts with advanced reconstruction, facial trauma, temporomandibular joint disorders, obstructive sleep apnea, implant rehabilitation, as well as dental extractions. His extensive training allows him to provide complete patient comfort through the utilization of general anesthesia and state of the art patient monitoring. Dr. Winans is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Outside of Berks Oral Surgery, Dr. Winans enjoys spending time with his wife Bethany, his family, friends and his dog Dolce. His other interests include soccer, skiing and triathlons.
